I grew up in a culture that lived by the "community raises up the young people." We didn't have so much exposure to technology and social media wasn't the mainstream (good, bad and indifferent). We were focused on school, good grades and making a better tomorrow. We also didn't have as many distractions as exist today that leave our youth bewildered and feeling out of place and unmotivated. Today, if youth don't look a certain way, come from a certain economic status, have a certain style about them, they don't fit in. The desire to seek higher education is of less importance to youth today and school systems are losing the ability to keep them motivated and inspired. It’s hard to compete with what the world is offering as "immediate" but temporary gratification.  Youth, today, are not as driven as they can be, they are unfulfilled, distracted, unmotivated and uninspired. Your health does matter! Don't take it for granted. One of the most valuable prized possessions is your health! In order to achieve the things, you want requires you to pay attention to it. Now, let’s get rid of all negative influences. I am sure we have all tried at one point to improve one area of our lives or another and have found that it is hard. Fact is everything "change oriented" requires work, patience and time. Some reasons we give up or find that we struggle to meet that goal are those negative influences that we neglect to clear out. These influences flood our minds and space, creating a barrier between where we are and where we want to be. These influences can be anything, anything that we know we shouldn't do, shouldn't have but do and have anyway. Taking back control of your health is a liberating feeling. What is BSFP? BSFP, Inc. is an incorporated 501(C)(3) nonprofit youth mentoring and empowerment Organization filled with programs serving youth throughout communities in Rockland and Orange County, New York.  What is the Purpose of BSFP? Created out of an unmet need in our community, BSFP is creating an environment where youth are motivated to achieve, and feel empowered to become self-sufficient shareholders in the economic and social fabric of the communities we serve.  We are striving to empower and reignite passion, confidence, determination, and inspiration in our youth. Showing them support and that they have resources, that we are here to help them thrive and fulfill their dreams.  Is BSFP Only For Youth? To love isn’t about knowing all of the right things to say or do or obeying a list of rules that tell you how to love. It’s something more, something costlier, because it involves being present and making a sacrifice. Giving up the "you" for partnership. Time... No matter who you are, we are all given only 24 hours in a day. The demands of the day may leave us overwhelmed and we find ourselves saying 24 hours is just not enough. The choices we make concerning our hours today do in fact influence the foundation of our future.
