Why Did We Start BSFP?

I grew up in a culture that lived by the "community raises up the young people." We didn't have so much exposure to technology and social media wasn't the mainstream (good, bad and indifferent). We were focused on school, good grades and making a better tomorrow. We also didn't have as many distractions as exist today that leave our youth bewildered and feeling out of place and unmotivated. Today, if youth don't look a certain way, come from a certain economic status, have a certain style about them, they don't fit in. The desire to seek higher education is of less importance to youth today and school systems are losing the ability to keep them motivated and inspired. It’s hard to compete with what the world is offering as "immediate" but temporary gratification.  Youth, today, are not as driven as they can be, they are unfulfilled, distracted, unmotivated and uninspired. What is BSFP? BSFP, Inc. is an incorporated 501(C)(3) nonprofit youth mentoring and empowerment Organization filled with programs serving youth throughout communities in Rockland and Orange County, New York.  What is the Purpose of BSFP? Created out of an unmet need in our community, BSFP is creating an environment where youth are motivated to achieve, and feel empowered to become self-sufficient shareholders in the economic and social fabric of the communities we serve.  We are striving to empower and reignite passion, confidence, determination, and inspiration in our youth. Showing them support and that they have resources, that we are here to help them thrive and fulfill their dreams.  Is BSFP Only For Youth? B.S.F.P is a nonprofit organization that aims to help youth reach heights they may have thought to be impossible. We empower them to understand that life is not a destination, it’s a journey and encourage them to take advantage of all it has to offer.
